Job description

Our client, a highly successful organisation, Irish owned and with three offices across the country, are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their company.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Assistant Accountant will be an integral part of the team, supporting several financial processes by efficiently and accurately producing essential financial data and conducting cost and revenue analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete the company monthly payroll.
  • Manage the full end to end payroll function, ensuring contractors are paid in full and on time and responding to any queries related to payroll.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts to trial balance, including the creating and posting of monthly journals, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead review.
  • Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Complete VAT returns processing and CSO returns.
  • Ensure charges on invoices are correct.
  • Manage supplier payment, ensuring payment are correct.
  • Weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting into the business.

To be considered, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant with Payroll responsibilities with the ability to produce financial reports and be involved in a variety of tasks within a finance department.
  • Degree in Accounting.
  • IPASS qualification or previous payroll experience would be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ambitious with a focus on personal and professional growth.
  • A strong customer focus and good commercial acumen.

Salary: up to €45,000 depending on experience + Benefits package.
