Indirect Spend Procurement Manager

This leading US medical diagnostics organisation serve the $41 billion clinical diagnostics market. They deliver more than 250 million tests every year, used by physicians to diagnose, treat, monitor and manage their patients. Their tests help diagnose diseases such as prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, leukaemia, HIV, congestive heart failure and heart attacks. They are now seeking a Strategic Sourcing & Indirect Spend Procurement Manager to join their team in the West of Ireland.

The Role

Your role as Indirect Spend Procurement Manager will be to provide strategic procurement expertise and support to the third party procurement process and personnel in EMEAI. Reporting into a global head of function, you will be primarily focused on project leadership of both single site and global, high value, strategic sourcing and indirect spending projects on behalf of the strategic sourcing function. Other key responsibilities of your role will include:

  • Focusing on strategically developing supplier relationships to improve delivery to the organisation from a quality of product and cost perspective
  • Collaborating with corporate commodity managers on global, high value, strategic sourcing projects
  • Directly managing the indirect savings team as well as the indirect spending savings programs in EMEAI
  • Identifying potential cost saving purchasing measures in line with current best practice
  • Supporting project teams in new product development with supplier contracts, terms and conditions

Substantial travel is required with this role, with travel regions being mainly Europe and the US.

The Person

The successful Indirect Spend Procurement Manager will ideally have a degree qualification with 8+ years’ global sourcing and commodity management experience within the healthcare, medical devices, or pharmaceutical sectors – you will preferably experience in a GMP/FDA/IMB regulated industry.

Experience in a Lean Six Sigma environment along with a proven track record of talent management will round out your profile.
