Intercompany Accounting Manager

Our client is a global leader and highly regarded business within the pharmaceutical sector based out of Dublin. They are hugely progressive and fast growing in an exciting sector in the Irish market and are looking for a strong Intercompany Accounting Manager to join their business on a permanent basis to support their ongoing growth and progression.

The Role

This Intercompany Accounting Manager role will be sitting in the corporate global headquarters based in central Dublin reporting to the Director of Finance, and will be responsible for managing the intercompany accounting for the Irish and UK entities as well as supporting the Corporate Director of Intercompany Accounting and the Controller to facilitate adherence to processes and to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

This exciting Intercompany Accounting Manager role will be responsible specifically for:

  • Ensuring proper group consolidated recording and reporting of value chain transactions
  • Review and recording of financial events and transactions in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Compiling, reviewing, analysing and reporting actual performance versus plan and forecast for functional areas in accordance with Corporate Sarbanes-Oxley Guidelines
  • Supporting the Operational Transfer Price team to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual transfer pricing reconciliations
  • Controlling the intercompany pooling agreements in order to record activity in accordance with such arrangements
  • Monitor and report on intercompany receivables and payables
  • Prepare intercompany account reconciliations and explain all items and activity contained within each account
  • Analysing the intercompany accounting process to ensure that it is aligned with management accounting objectives, anticipate and resolve any conflicts
  • Assisting with with year-end audit requests
  • Work directly with US Finance team and other business partners to provide various forms of financial analysis in support of business decision-making
  • Provide analysis and decision support for initiatives as they arise
  • Responsibility for executing and documenting relevant SOX controls, formalising operational controls and procedures and expanding these as necessary to optimise the control environment
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationship with business partners, while providing thoughtful and candid insights into key business matters
  • Support the Senior FP&A Manager to ensure compliance with applicable corporate and statutory reporting timelines and obligations, including VAT reporting and Irish statutory filings

The Person

In order to be considered for this progressive Intercompany Accounting Manager role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with extensive experience in Intercompany Accounting management, and a broad working knowledge of accurate and timely Financial Reporting from a blue-chip environment.

Specific requirements for the successful candidate would include:

  • You will be qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and have approx. 2-3 years’ specific experience focused on intercompany accounting
  • You would ideally have a depth of experience from within the pharmaceutical, medical devices or FMCG sector
  • Strong very strong understanding of intercompany accounting process
  • A depth of knowledge of financial reporting and in particular sound working knowledge of Irish, US and UK GAAP
  • Working knowledge of of transfer pricing and cost accounting
  • Advance working knowledge of SAP and or JD Edwards, or one of the other mainstream ERP systems
  • You will have excellent communications skills and evidence of co-ordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve results
  • Strong business partnering experience across multiple regions
