Procurement Category Manager – IT – 6 mth Contract

My client is a global energy solutions provider with almost 100,000 employees worldwide. They are seeking an experienced IT and telecoms procurement professional to complete a 6 month maternity cover contract.

The Position

In this Procurement Category Manager role you will report directly into the Senior Category Manager for IT managing all ICT and Telecoms commodities, supplier sourcing, contracting and contract management while liaising regularly with senior internal stakeholders in order to gain an understanding of the material and service requirements. In addition, your role as the IT Procurement Category Manager will encompass:

  • Leading the supplier analysis process (RFQs) and assisting with supplier negotiations for the business, while also maintaining and building the relationship with third party vendors ensuring optimal quality, pricing and delivery of world class solutions
  • Developing reporting metrics with relevant functions in order to identify areas for improvement and cost saving initiatives for the global business

The Person

The successful Procurement Category Manager must have a minimum of 4+ years’ in a similar role with experience of having full ownership of end to end procurement process. A degree qualification is essential for this position. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience managing contracts and relationships with third party vendors and outsourced partners in an international environment
  • The ability to handle multiple projects with a basic understanding of ICT/ telco products/ services
