Supply Chain Planning Director

Our client is one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical organisations. Through acquisitions and mergers, this company has expanded rapidly in its short history and now boasts more than 5,000 employees, and offices in more than 40 countries. Part of a fortune 500 organisation, this company has grown due to an innovative internal development pipeline and an aggressive acquisition strategy. They are seeking an experienced planning professional to join their Supply Chain team as Supply Chain Planning Director and oversee all planning activities for the business.

The Position

As the new Supply Chain Planning Director, you will be reporting into the VP of External Supply and will be directly responsible for the end to end Supply Chain Planning team for the organisations manufacturing plants globally.

You will be responsible for overseeing all supply chain processes while providing direction and leadership to the team with a view to ensuring maximum efficiency throughout the organisations planning function.

Your other key responsibilities as Supply Chain Planning Director will be:

  • Developing and leading S+OP planning processes for the global business while managing supply chain programs and projects relevant to supply planning activities
  • Managing a team of planners to ensure a smooth transition for all raw materials in order to support the business while providing tactical and strategic expertise on all planning activities
  • Reviewing and analysing supply chain metrics in order to identify corrective and preventative actions

The Person

The ideal Supply Chain Planning Director will be degree qualified with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in supply chain management with experience in end to end planning processes within the pharmaceutical industry sector.

You will have demonstrable experience leading cross functional teams to overcome hurdles and deliver project results within a planning function as well as experience in project management with the ability to implement change when needed.

Strong commercial experience with the ability to handle multiple projects will round out your profile, along with:

  • Excellent verbal, organisational, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Outstanding problem solving capabilities.
