Associate Director of Payroll

The business is now seeking a highly talented Associate Director of Payroll in the Global Payroll team to drive the global payroll team and lead strategic projects across multiple regions across EMEA and APAC. This is a senior level hire and would require a strong payroll business partner who is able to work cross-functional and regionally.

This Associate Director of Payroll position will interact closely with the Senior stakeholders and in addition to assisting in the development and implementation of the global payroll strategy, they will manage the global payroll processes and be responsible for evaluating and recommending process improvements. The Role

This is a highly impactful Associate Director of Payroll position and will require someone who is passionate about what they do and who understands how to influence and drive payroll strategy and processes on a global scale. The successful candidate will be technically strong, with an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, as well as comfortable dealing with sensitive information in relation to stock, mobility and board of director’s payroll. The role will be responsible for a number of key areas including:

  • Assist with the development of a strategy for a global payroll service delivery model
  • Provide leadership and direction in managing the daily operations of various International and regional payrolls
  • Support in leading the transition to the new model while identifying and implementing sustainable payroll process improvements
  • Supporting and advising on Equity and Mobility requirements and the successful delivery into Payroll & Finance
  • Measure and manage performance, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage and ensure payroll compliance as well as vendor management and relationships
  • Ensure consistent processes, resolve escalated issues, and ensure balanced workload among the team
  • Provides advice and support to global Human Resources and Finance Shared Services teams in other duties and projects as appropriate

The Person

In order to be considered for the Associate Director of Payroll, you will have extensive working experience in a global payroll position from within a progressive multinational shared services environment. You will need to be adaptable, professional and confident with a strong analytical approach to develop and then implement the global payroll strategy going forward. In order to be considered you will:

  • Have held a similar Associate Director or Senior Manager level Payroll position in a multinational business where you have supported high-level payroll strategy and implementation, and have delivered on projects on a global scale within a shared service environment
  • Hold a relevant payroll qualification (IPASS) or equivalent with relevant post qualification experience
  • Experience of managing people and performance within a global environment both directly and remotely as well as influencing cross-functionally
  • Progressive track record of successfully operating at senior level reporting to the senior c-suite level
  • In-depth working leaderships experience having led, managed and developed both employees and vendor relationships
  • Demonstrable knowledge utilising ADP and/or other payroll providers
  • Have an extensive project and change management experience, including having implemented payroll process improvements and SOX compliance processes
  • Have advanced Excel skills and strong IT and systems knowledge with a skill set to effectively implement financial software projects
