International Accountant – 12 month FTC

A US multinational technology company based in Dublin 2, who are number one in their field of specialisation, are currently seeking a Senior International Accountant to join their business on a 1-year fixed term contract.

The Role

Working with a team of bright, energetic and people centric individuals, you will be responsible for the following:

  • General ledger tasks including providing accruals and prepayments during month-end close for several markets across the international business
  • Working closely with other departments and financial analysts to complete month end
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for GL accounts across multiple entities (multi-currency)
  • Completing month end close processes in accordance with internal controls and US GAAP reporting standards
  • Preparing & presenting month end variance analysis to senior US finance team
  • Preparing local statutory financial statements for entities assigned to you in accordance with the applicable local accounting standards
  • Actively assisting with and managing the internal and external audits, taking ownership of agreed areas and delivering directly to the auditors
  • Updating and maintaining policies and procedures documentation
  • Maintaining and improving internal controls over accounting processes
  • Local management of an accounts payable team
  • Performing/managing process improvements projects as needed

The Person

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, along with relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Top six firm trained Accountant, 5 years + PQE
  • Industry experience a plus, particularly within an international environment
  • Solid accounting and technical skills (IFRS, US GAAP, SOX)
  • Proficiency in Oracle desired, not essential
  • Auditing experience is required
  • Financial operations management experience (exposure to AP function) a distinct advantage
  • Ability to act independently, exercising independent decision making, and fulfilling responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to deal with others in a professional manner

The Benefits

It is unusual to receive a full benefits package when the role is of a fixed term contract basis, however with this organisation the salary and benefits are as follows:

Salary: up to €80,000 + VHI + dental + pension + completion bonus
