Job description

A leading healthcare manufacturer based in Dublin are looking to increase their procurement team in order to support a new product introduction. Sitting in the organisations Global HQ this role will be responsible for direct procurement for the site.

The Role

Reporting directly into the Head of Procurement this role will lead the site procurement productivity program in cost reduction initiatives to achieve business targets. In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving material cost reductions through collaboration with strategic procurement
  • Negotiating with key suppliers when needed in order to both build the relationships and in turn reduce overall material costs
  • Building and maintaining relationships with senior management and supervisors on site to ensure effective communication around procurement activities at all times
  • Developing and driving agreements with external stakeholders to ensure productivity for commodities that are deemed priority for the site
  • Working closely with all other procurement functions to implement changes in the supply base in order to reduce costs and drive efficiencies
  • Conducting and analysing competitive exercises for sourcing activities in other to obtain the most efficient solution to the organisation while ensuring quality supply at all times
  • Engaging with suppliers in order to develop the relationship in order to reduce total direct material costs
  • Managing the product life cycle program with suppliers in order to support new product introductions

The Person

  • All applicants must be degree qualified within an engineering/manufacturing discipline
  • At least 3+ years' experience managing a manufacturing category with a strong technical knowledge
  • Strong business acumen with extensive negotiations experience
  • A lean focused individual with experience implementing cost savings within the procurement function
  • Strong influencing capabilities with experience building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
