Procurement Service Manager

This innovative multinational FMCG organisation is one of Ireland’s leading employers. With operations in Dublin and Cork, this organisation is now seeking a Procurement Service Manager to join their company. Reporting to the Procurement Services Manager for Europe this role will be based in Cork or Dublin.

The Role:

As the Procurement Service Manager you will be responsible for the operational, tactical and strategic procurement for all functions within the organisation.

  • You will develop and implement the local sourcing strategies for various categories focusing predominately professional and business services
  • Have responsibility for managing the entire Purchase to Pay process and support global initiatives while doing so
  • A keen focus of your role will be identifying and initiating optimisations to the business process
  • You will also manage a team of Buyers and Contract Managers and be responsible for their development

The Person:

The successful candidate will need to have at least 5 years of experience within a Procurement function. You will need to have very strong communication skills and have a thorough understanding of strategic procurement from a sourcing and process management aspect.

Specific requirements for this role would include

  • A level 7 Degree with a procurement or purchasing certificate being desirable
  • Team management and Project Management experience
  • Proven background managing various procurement categories
  • Very strong analytical skills and an awareness of process efficiencies and costs, SAP knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience in an FMCG environment is highly desirable but not essential
