This innovative Irish family run business is one of Ireland's leading food processing companies with over 180 staff across 2 sites in Cork.

This business supply both fresh and frozen products to national and export markets, as well as the food service sector.

With recent investments in research and new product development, the company's continued growth and success have lead to a new opening for a Quality Assurance Assistant within their Cork City site.

The Role

• Liaise with Production & Technical Depts.
• Ensure customer quality is met & exceeded.
• Conduct environmental swabbing and product sampling as determined.
• Collection of samples and logging of same.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained with respect to procedures, documentation control.
• Ensure that all irregularities are reported.
• Conduct Hygiene checks and GMP checks throughout factory floor.
• Review and Filing of Production check sheets.
• Assisting with customer and regulatory visits and BRC/Customer audits.
• Calibration of Equipment.
• Incoming inspection of packaging and raw materials.
• Provide support when required for Technical Department (Customer Complaints, Customer Specifications,).
• Provide support for QCs on factory floor with product quality checks.

The Person

• Degree in Food Science or equivalent.
• Ideally minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Food manufacturing/production experience.
• Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
• Strong Team working skills.
• Assertiveness and Adaptability.
• Hands on active approach.
• Ability to use own initiative, self-motivated.
• Strong IT Skills.
• Well organised and excellent ability to handle pressure.
• Ability to influence and implement change.
