A growing medical device organisation based in Galway are seeking an experienced R&D Engineer. This role will report directly to the Head of Product Development and using technical expertise, the R&D Engineer will be responsible for maintaining products through their product lifecycle, in existing markets as well as supporting new market entries.

The Role

Duties and responsibilities of the R&D Engineer will include:

• Act as the interface between the R&D team and Manufacturing/Operations to ensure seamless transfer of newly developed products and product revisions from the development environment.
• Lead the product handover for new products from R&D to manufacturing.
• Be an active member of the product development group.
• Responsible for the maintenance of our products through the full product lifecycle.
• Support any changes to the manufacturing process as a result of product changes.
• Support Operations in the identification, assessment and utilisation of new technologies.
• Generation of requirements, specifications, and drawings for fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of end-products.

The Person

You will have skills and experience in the following:

• Degree in Engineering/Science or related discipline.
• 3+ years relevant experience in medical device/regulated environment.
• Strong electronic engineering capabilities with an appreciation for other engineering disciplines i.e. mechanical etc.
• A solid understanding of the manufacturing process.
