Senior Tax Accountant

This leading global biologics organisation provides and offers comprehensive integrated and customisable services to the biopharmaceutical and related industry sectors globally.

Recently, this business has announced expansions into geographies such as the U.S and most recently Ireland, where a significant investment has been undertaken to build a new green-field manufacturing site. Once built, this site will be the largest single use biologics manufacturing plant globally, employing in the region of 400 staff. With this expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Tax Accountant to join the organisation at the start-up phase.

The Role

The duties of this role will include:

  • Preparing the monthly/bi-monthly Irish VAT, VIES, Intrastat returns annual corporation tax returns for Biologics Ireland
  • Assisting with the corporate tax accounting for statutory and quarterly group reporting
  • Performing reconciliations for tax accounts and review tax accounting and reporting process
  • Ensuring tax compliance and acting as the point of contact for tax related matters
  • Monitoring tax legislation and developing new opportunities to maximise benefits
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Consistently seeking to improve finance procedures, recommending solutions

There is an opportunity to expand your experience to the treasury area also, duties within the treasury area will include:

  • Monthly treasury reporting
  • Managing all payments including reviewing and checking payment information and related documents
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly cash and bank account reconciliations
  • Verifying and inputting purchase invoices
  • Preparing cash flow statements
  • Managing financing activities, including bank accounts, bank facilities, bank loans, time deposits, bank financing products, cross-border cash pooling management
  • Responsible for domestic and international foreign exchange transactions, minimising foreign exchange risk exposure

The Person

To be considered for this role, you will possess:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualified Accountant with minimum 3-5 years’ post qualified experience
  • Tax qualified (AITI/CTA)
  • Previous experience within a multinational environment
  • Top 6 practice trained within Tax
  • Strong knowledge of Irish taxation
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Driven, focused individual with strong team spirit
