Training Manager (Pharmaceutical)

A leading global pharmaceutical organisation, employing over 3,000 staff in Ireland across multiple sites is seeking a Training Lead for one of the key sites within Ireland. They provide innovative health solutions across vaccines, cardiovascular disease, oncology and diabetes care. Their Leinster operations are undergoing a huge expansion, with expected growth of 300% in 2017 due to the commercialisation of new products. The Role

To facilitate this growth, our client is looking for a Continuous Improvement & Training Leader to manage the training and development of a diverse workforce, with a focus on operational excellence. This role offers a unique spread of Op Ex and HR Training.

As Training Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the Operational Excellence team to maintain and develop a culture of continuous improvement, with a specific focus on Training and Development

  • Acting as an internal consultant (matters relating to training compliance and employee development), as site representative working in a collaborative manner with other sites on Learning & Development programs to share and drive best industry practice

  • Leading and managing change within the existing Learning and Development Team, whilst continuously driving corporate compliance

  • Owning the Site Learning Management System and using this to drive improvements and compliance in a proactive manner
  • Management of training team, their delivery, performance and development

The Person

As the Continuous Improvement & Training Leader, you will have had significant exposure to lean manufacturing and ideally will have some previous experience in developing and co-ordinating lean six sigma or Kaizen training programs or hold some form of lean manufacturing qualification.

  • Previous experience in a GMP setting is ideal.
  • Lean 6S would be an advantage and a bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement.
  • Previous team management is required for the ideal candidate.
