Job description

This is a permanent role and will be based at the Dublin facility, one of three manufacturing sites this company operate in Ireland.

The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Calibration Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the calibration, testing, and repair of a variety of standard instrumentation and specialist equipment, ensuring compliance with industry practices and regulations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Perform calibrations on temperature, humidity, pressure, weight, flow, speed, conductivity, ph, and viscosity instrumentation, following company and cGMP procedures and requirements.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and rectify instrumentation faults arising during calibration.
  • Immediately report calibration non-conformances and generate deviation reports if required.
  • Calibration records should be entered into the CMMS system in accordance with ALCOA+ principles.
  • Ensure calibration reference standards are up-to-date and properly labeled and notify the Calibration Lead of any pending out-of-date equipment.
  • Maintain an organised, clean, and tidy working environment in line with 5S principles.
  • Adhere to approved company EHS risk assessments for elevated risk calibration activities and report all accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to site EHS.
  • Support routine safety inspections and Gemba walks related to calibration activities.
  • Comply with all HR policies and procedures, including timely reporting of absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Calibration Lead within the general remit of the role.

The Person

The successful candidate will have an Engineering Degree. Other requirements include:

  • Time served Electrical & Instrumentation apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in Electronics / Instrumentation / Control Systems, City and Guilds FTC in Electronics or Control & Instrumentation, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Previous experience in calibration activities within the pharmaceutical industry, especially in Clean Rooms or similarly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving issues associated with instrumentation/measurement devices.
  • Previous experience with CMMS systems for recording calibration records - SAP, Maximo, or ProCal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and contribute within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to see activities through to completion.

The Benefits

This is an hourly rate contracting position for a duration of 12 months. There is high likelihood of extending past this contract length.
