Within its Diagnostics Division, there is significant investment at present, being undertaken in their operation in the West of Ireland. There is a growing R&D operation being developed here due to the introduction of three new products. An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join this dynamic R&D team developing novel immunoassays.

You will coordinate with other teams while also being an individual contributor to various project developments. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of laboratory experiments, upkeeping data records, analysing experimental data, and drawing conclusions from this information.

The Position

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician include:

  • Support assay execution in biosafety level 3 environment.

  • Develop and maintain documents for the Design History File.

  • Collaborate on drafting and submitting protocols for testing and data analysis.

  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations internally; share knowledge with the team.

  • Set up Centre of Excellence R&D lab, including authoring SOPs, equipment procurement, and maintenance documentation.

  • Author and review operating procedures and related documentation.

  • Ensure safe work practices and behaviour.

  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and QMS.

  • Adhere to EHS laws and technical standards.

The Person

  • Science-related degree or equivalent experience.

  • 18+ months of relevant industrial experience.

  • Willing to learn and adapt to serological test design.

  • Adaptable to changing priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

  • Strong analytic skills with an understanding of statistics.

  • Collaborative communication style.

  • Proficient in technical writing and data presentation.
