Their new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny reflects the demand for their global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including a product that enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.

Their manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, Ireland the site's Operation System Engineering function currently has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join their expanding team. As the Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for software systems employed in the production of their Diabetes devices.

The Position

  • Act as the technical lead for data and manufacturing operations management systems.

  • Develop and validate new software systems for real-time data acquisition from production machinery and laboratory processes.

  • Implement and validate Oracle databases for efficient data storage.

  • Design and deliver backup and recovery solutions for PC and PLC systems.

  • Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and manage programs to improve cybersecurity at the operational technology level.

  • Define and manage the roadmap for operating system updates.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers, controls engineers, vision engineers, and OEM manufacturers to enhance processes and standards according to business needs.

The Person

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, with experience in systems integration.

  • Experience with software interfacing with electromechanical systems in the operational technology layer.

  • Proficiency in software development, database design, and SQL.

  • Application development and deployment experience (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, VB.net, SQL Server).

  • Familiarity with OSI PI, line controllers, PLC, SCADA, and MES systems.
