Job description

Our client is one of the largest biopharmaceutical organisations globally with a diverse portfolio of products. This business has a significant presence globally focusing on the development and manufacturing of life changing medicines and treatments. They are seeking an experienced project manager to join their global PMO office as a Strategic Project Manager (PMO) on an initial 12-months contract.

The Role

  • You will provide overall project management support for multiple functions across the global network including compounds of interest projects, key strategic projects, and cost improvement programs.

  • Develop and maintain project charter (PDCA) with clear definition of project scope, resources, budget, goals, milestones, timeline, constraint, and risks.

  • You will align strategic project goals with the organisations blueprint and project initiatives.

  • Validate business case estimate for proposed project, ensure endorsement of key stakeholders, and alignment on the inclusion of the Cost Improvement Project in site budget as applicable.

  • You will develop and oversee the project plan and schedule.

  • Develop and maintain project templates to track value, budget, actions, etc.

  • Schedule and manage PMO meetings and issue minutes.

  • Assist in identifying project risks/critical issues and developing applicable mitigation plans.

  • Ensure that standards and expectations for project management are followed by the project team.

  • Work with various stakeholders to manage project resource allocations.

  • You will actively seek collaboration and build relationships with key stakeholders to improve overall project outcomes and ensure timely project completion.

  • In collaboration with cross functional team, you will develop and maintain project and/or process Playbook(s) and Knowledge Management tool(s).

  • Identify opportunities for replication across other platforms and sites.

  • Support the effort to improve project management approach as well as the processes and systems addressed through projects.

The Person

  • You will be an experienced professional with 5+ years in global project management/operational excellence experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Life Sciences with a Project Management Certification.

  • Possess a strong knowledge of pharmaceutical product lifecycle.

  • You will be an excellent communicator with demonstrated experience in key stakeholder management.

  • Experience implementing and seeing through key strategic projects within a large scale complex environment.
