Job description

Our client, a leading Biologics / Pharma corporation with a global footprint involved in the research, development, manufacturing, and distribution of a variety of products such as vaccines, medicines and other healthcare related products seek to hire a fully remote Strategic Project Manager for a 12-month contract.

The Position

The role reports to the "Strategic Program Management Office", Technology Excellence in Global Technology & Engineering. You will manage strategic projects from initiation through planning, execution, and closing. You will be responsible for tracking the assigned projects, developing playbooks, and executing relevant continuous improvement opportunities. You will drive project progress against established goals and timeline. You will oversee and manage project day-to-day operational aspects, acting as a liaison between Project Team and Project Sponsor(s)/Key Stakeholders. You will manage project status update and reporting. You will assess in the identification/escalation of project risks/issues and the establishment of mitigations.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Provide overall project management support for assigned project(s), including (but not limited to):

    • Compounds of Interest project(s), such as: Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), Nitrosamines, Diethylene Glycol (DEG) and Ethylene Glycol (EG), and/or Titanium Dioxide.

    • Cost Improvement project(s).

    • Other strategic projects.

  • Develop and maintain project charter with clear definition of project scope, resources, budget, goals/metrics, activities/milestones, dependency, timeline, constraint, and risks.

  • Align strategic project goals with Core Business Principles and Initiatives.

  • Validate business case/cost estimate for proposed project, ensure endorsement of key stakeholders, and alignment on the inclusion of the Cost Improvement Project in site budget as applicable.

  • Develop and oversee project plan and schedule.

  • Develop and maintain project templates to track value, budget, actions, etc.

  • Assist in establishing project governance following structure.

  • Schedule and manage PMO meetings and issue minutes.

  • Assist in identifying project risks/critical issues and developing applicable mitigation plans.

  • Develop and maintain project risk register.

  • Ensure that standards and expectations for project management are followed by the Project Team.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering) or Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology).

  • 5+ years of global project management/operational excellence experience.

  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical experience.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product lifecycle.

  • Fluent both written and verbally in English.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, using spreadsheet and financial functions.

  • Adaptable to work priorities in response to complex and rapidly changing environment.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.

  • Passion for learning and pursuing a career in the health care industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated financial acumen.

  • Project Management Certification.

  • Certified Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Innovation Coach.

  • SharePoint skills (developing simple SharePoint page/portal).
