Supplier Quality Engineer

Within its Cardiovascular Division, there is a steady growth and a need for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their operation in Tipperary.

You will provide technical support in the selection and approvals of suppliers and service providers by performing supplier evaluations. You will monitor supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action and conduct supplier certification activities. You will drive improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers. Assessing supplier changes for impact to the organisation and to determine whether initiation of the A V Change management and process is necessary.

The Role

  • Assess potential new suppliers and service providers for technical, quality and quality systems capabilities. Determine methods of evaluation and forward wither a correspondence questionnaire to the supplier or conduct an on-site audit.
  • Peper audit reports that establish the outcome of the audit and details the non-conformances identified during the on-site audit.
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain an appropriate written correspondence action response plan with estimated dates for completion. Track audit results, including corrective actions and provide follow-up to thse actions, as required.
  • Initiates exceptions for nonconforming supplied material or services. Complete disposition activities as required and work with the supplier to root cause issues, agree corrections, corrective actions and or preventive actions and document same using the CatsWEB system. Monitor these issues to closure of effectiveness.
  • Maintain and active role with new product development teams to assist in supplier selection and approval and provide support, as required.
  • Prepare data for presentation at Quality Data review and Management Review meetings.

The Person

  • National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Lebel 7 qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
