Job description

Director of Operations

Our client is a global leader in the pharmaceutical, Biologics and medical device manufacturing industry. Due to continued investment and expansion, they are looking to hire a Director of Operations to lead their site operations in their Sligo manufacturing facility.

The Position

  • Reporting directly into the VP, Site lead this role will work with all senior leadership departments to ensure work practises and targets are achieved in line with the business targets and objectives.

  • Facilitating and ensuring appropriate training has been conducted for the site and in line with quality and GMP regulations across all functions.

  • Working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure business operations are operating in the most productive and efficient ways possible.

  • Setting out performance related goals and long term operational plans for the site working closely with all department managers around financial budget plans.

  • Developing and implementing operational systems and processes for the site.

  • Identifying cost saving initiatives for the site for both immediate and long term saving initiatives.

  • Identifying and implementing KPIs throughout the facility in line with specific functional targets.

  • Providing leadership and direction to create a culture of high performance and continuous improvement with the client at the forefront.

  • Establishing strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple business functions.

The Person

  • You will have 7+ years of technical leadership experience (large molecule, small molecule, biologics, parentals, API, drug product, filling/packaging) with sterile filling experience being a distinct advantage.

  • You will have broad functional leadership, including management experience across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply hain, MSAT.

  • Demonstrated experience of implementing high performing standards across teams with compliance and safety at the forefront.

  • Proven ability to lead through times of change or crisis making business critical decisions.

  • Delivery of P&L financial results while maintaining top tier quality, safety, and compliance.
