Job description

A global bio/pharmaceutical organisation are seeking an experienced Global PMO leader to lead their Manufacturing project management function based out of their international HQ in Ireland. Our client is looking for a big picture thinker with high energy and a problem-solving mentality.

The Position

  • The Global Head of PMO is a senior leadership position and will be responsible for overseeing the program management office with the global manufacturing network.
  • You will play a key role in driving strategic project management initiatives to ensure successful delivery of multiple projects.
  • The Head of PMO will lead a team of program managers to enhance the overall project execution capabilities of the manufacturing operation.
  • Working closely with VPs and other business leaders to support projects and programs within their overall functions.
  • You will be the interface with the leadership stakeholders acting as a trusted advisor around all things technical programs and projects.
  • Allocating and managing PMO resources effectively to support business objectives while implementing governance mechanisms for resource allocation.
  • You will manage the team performance ensuring maximum operational efficiency through support, development and coaching.
  • Monitoring and providing regularly leadership updates on agreed strategic program targets including cost management.
  • Design and implement accredited training programs for project managers.
  • Driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the PMO function through people and processes.

The Person

  • You will have 10+ years of experience in project and program management within a life sciences manufacturing environment focusing on technical projects.
  • Experience leading teams of program managers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale programs with budgets of €300M+.
  • Proven track record in successful program delivery on time and within budget in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of tech transfers, NPIs, capital projects, R&D are a distinct advantage.
  • You will be qualified to degree level with a project management certification.
