Job description

This opportunity is with a global organisation with headquarters based out of Dublin. Our client is seeking a Logistics Director to provide expert guidance to their clients on all aspects of logistics and warehousing operations.

The Logistics Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase productivity.

The Role

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on logistics and warehousing operations, including transportation, warehousing and distribution.

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with clients' goals and objectives.

  • Conduct audits and assessments of clients' logistics and warehousing operations to identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop and implement solutions to improve clients' logistics and warehousing operations, including process improvements, technology implementations, and organisational changes.

  • Manage and lead a team of logistics professionals, including training, coaching and performance management.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and project management, to ensure efficient coordination of activities.

  • Monitor and analyse logistics performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, such as carriers, warehouses, and freight forwarders.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and standards related to logistics and transportation.

  • Manage logistics budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.

  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to improve logistics operations.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is desired.

  • 5+ years' experience working in a similar role ideally within a medical device or life science environment.

  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing logistics strategies that improve efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of logistics software, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
