Job description

Our client, the producer of some of the world's most popular consumer goods, are currently recruiting for an innovative and driven individual to join the Materials Team as a Planning/Inventory Analyst on a permanent basis.

The Role

In this role, you will develop and lead planning and inventory strategies delivering significant improvement in demand planning, inventory planning and new product development planning according to best practices and procedures. In addition, you will:

  • Demonstrate the insight, communication and flexibility required as a team player to drive improvements in all areas of planning and inventory management
  • Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to lead optimised planning focused processes
  • Support the demand planning team by being fully competent to work in each of the demand planning areas
  • Proactively engage with the demand/supply planning teams, by acting as the production champion for new products and product phase-out/rundown to minimise delays and write-offs
  • Be responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure new product projects are on target, systems are correctly updated, and corrective action is taken when necessary
  • Be competent in the preparation of RSA budget process for the Production function, including assigning volumes to production plants and budgeting COGS for IDL products
  • Ensure the targeted budget/latest estimate revisions are analysed in detail and action is taken to correct where necessary
  • Assist with optimising inventory to ensure that the business objectives are aligned with the planning system
  • Possess a deep understanding of MPS/MRP planning systems to ensure the SAP planning system is aligned with demand planning so as to optimise supply planning

The Person

  • You will need a 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline (Supply Chain / Manufacturing / Business)
  • CPIM qualification is desirable but not essential
  • You will need proven experience in a similar role - minimum 3 years
  • Coming from a fully integrated business planning environment would be a distinct advantage although not essential
  • In depth knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP ECC/APO an advantage)
  • You will need to be a problem solver with decision making skills
  • Strong analytical and numeric ability
  • Excellent organisational and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including advanced excel
