Job description

This home-grown Irish food organisation have close ties to their local community and are a primary supplier of high quality products to the Irish market. Due to continued expansion of the organisation a position has arisen for a Site Quality Manager to join the quality team on site.

The Role

The Quality Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing and implementing the Food Safety Quality Management System in the plant
  • Developing and leading a production team that will focus on compliance, issue prevention, performance measurement and root cause problem solving with a strong attention to detail
  • Ensuring all audits are successful and that any corrective actions are carried out effectively
  • Leading the resolution of product complaints, non-conformances, and customer queries
  • Ensuring that products are produced 100% to specification at all time
  • Developing the Quality team so that there is always cover for each role with all members continuously learning and developing

The Person

The ideal candidate will have qualifications & experience in the following:

  • 3rd level degree in Food Science or similar
  • Diploma in Management
  • 5+ years' experience in a Quality Management role
  • Good knowledge of BRC standard, food safety legislation and customer standards
  • Good knowledge of HACCP and GMP
  • Demonstrated skills in judgement and sound decision making
  • Demonstrated skills in organising work, setting priorities and planning ahead
  • Ability to articulate and implement Best Practice standards in quality requirements and process
  • Ability to communicate quality policies throughout the organisation and ensure that all staff understand that the ultimate goal is to produce safe food that is best in class
