Job description

This leading food retailer and wholesale company is a market leader in supplying to retail, food service and SME businesses. They are Ireland's largest private sector employer and are passionate about sustainability and making a difference to the people of Ireland. A position has arisen for a Quality Manager to join the Quality team at their site in North Dublin.

The Role

Responsibilities of the Quality Manager will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee implementation and manage the maintenance of the QMS in accordance with current legislation and relevant standards
  • Ensure procedures outlined in the QMS are adhered to, and food safety records, KPIs and risk assessments are completed as required
  • Act as technical lead and point of contact for both external and internal auditors for advice on food safety operational procedure requirements
  • Prepare facility for external audits and lead audit at time of inspections
  • Act as documentation system management co-ordinator, managing QMS documentation
  • Design and manage the implementation of the audit processes to ensure full compliance across the network
  • Advise relevant teams and management on Food Safety training requirements

The Person

The ideal candidate will have qualifications & experience in the following:

  • BSc Food Science or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in relevant food technical role
  • Proven track record in managing food safety and compliance in a retail / manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of HACCP planning and its application
  • Food Safety Auditing experience
  • Problem Solver - identify risks and initiate solutions
  • Excellent Communication skills, conveying technical information and concepts in verbal, written and presentation format
