Job description

This leading food manufacturer supplies heavily into both the Irish and UK markets. They are a fast-paced, food manufacturing company, operating with approximately 400 people within their site in Drogheda. The business is broken into eight key areas, which include Operations, Supply Chain, Technical, Category (commercial), Engineering, HR, Systems, and Finance.

The Role

Reporting directly into the Technical Manager, the QMS Manager responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the site Food Safety and Quality Management System
  • Managing compliance and certification for key standards including TFMS, BRC, Bord Bia, Organic Trust
  • Implementing an internal audit schedule based on risk assessment to ensure compliance
  • Managing audit corrective action plans and close out to required timescales
  • Leading the site HACCP team and maintain the systems within the HACCP plan
  • Leading site audits and visits as required
  • Maintaining site food safety risk assessments
  • Liaising with the DAFM regarding regulatory affairs

The Person

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent within a technical field
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with quality standards and processes
  • Ability to interpret data and statistics with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the business
