Job description

A leading bio-pharmaceutical organisation are building a new manufacturing facility in Leinster. This is the company's first venture into the Irish market and will support customer delivery across the globe. The business is looking to recruit an experienced Automation Engineer to support the site at this early set-up phase of the project and this is one of the first roles within the technical team.

The Role

As a leader within the site Automation team you will be involved in automation design through to installation, liaising closely with on-site C&Q teams to ensure they manage full validation processes effectively. Reporting into the Head of Engineering for the site, you will:

  • Work closely within this group and liaise with on-site teams to deliver this project from an automation perspective
  • Be involved with the detailed design of automated solutions for the site
  • Support FAT's and complete SAT's, IQ and OQ Protocols
  • Be a subject matter expert in automation and support the DeltaV DCS platform
  • Oversee data backup, system configurations, non-compliance investigations
  • Prepare for and support both internal and external audits as required
  • Contribute to lean initiatives within engineering specifically focused on process improvements impacting operational activities
  • Support the resolution of production issues from an automation perspective

The Person

  • All applications must have a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment leading a team operationally or within a project
  • Experience within a highly regulated GMP manufacturing operation - Biotech or pharmaceutical sectors
  • Working knowledge of DeltaV and experience with Siemens PLC's is required to be successful in this role
  • A strong communicator with the ability to work well within a cross-functional team to achieve a common objective
  • Flexible approach to work and a positive attitude will be a good fit with the team dynamic
  • Be collaborative in your approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills are required for this position given the nature of the work involved
  • Autonomous with the ability to work on your own initiative
