Job description

As one of the world's largest medical device organisations, this business has operations across the Americas, Europe and Aisa Pacific, serving patients in the areas of Vascular, Cardiac and Neuromodulation. With an extensive portfolio of over 40 commercialised products, this company is well positioned to provide innovative technologies and manufacturing services on a global scale. They have expanded in recent years through an aggressive acquisition strategy and now have a footprint of four facilities in Ireland.

The Position

  • Sitting on the Site Leadership Team this position will manage a large group of engineering professionals to support site operations.
  • Manage all aspects of new product and technology introductions to site.
  • Take ownership of the product lines within the site and assume responsibility for delivering the targets set for these lines.
  • Champion continuous manufacturing excellence and drive a focused innovative approach within the Team.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers, proactively managing the risk associated with viability, design assurance, and scalability.
  • Communicate regularly with executive management and administration regarding the management of current projects; obtain executive management guidance and approval as required.
  • Embed quality standards within the Engineering Group, ensure adherence to the QMS, oversee CAPA's, support quality metrics for the site.
  • Adhere to the standardised procedures and controls related to quality, environment, H&S and security protocols in accordance with industry, customer and organisational requirements.
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvement campaigns across the site.
  • Provide leadership to your team and support the definition of key goals and objectives aligning with the site strategy.
  • Able to systematically identify and resolve complex problems with an analytical data driven approach and creative thinking.
  • Performs other duties as required.

The Person

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or a technical discipline. A Lean Six Sigma certification is also required.
  • Have led technical teams over a period of 10 years or more within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering Lean initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain networks, influence in a matrixed organisation, and communicate in a clear and highly professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, communicate, and implement long-term strategic and operational goals.
  • Effectively manage a volume of work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Accomplished record of problem-solving, sharing evidence of critical thinking, and considerate decision making.
  • Organised and detail oriented, demonstrates a high level of commitment and drive for excellence, and generates enthusiasm among the Team.
  • Experience and expertise applying change management principles and practices to drive successful enterprise transformation at all levels.
  • Influential communicator who can navigate various stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • A strong leader who stands firm and consistent within a high-energy, dynamic manufacturing site.
