Job description

A super opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation, which is rapidly growing with an ambition to double in size in the next 5 years. The Strategic HR Business Partner will work closely with key stakeholders and the people and culture team to develop and implement the people and culture strategy. Your role will involve providing strategic solutions to help the business achieve its goals while embodying its values.

The Strategic HR Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor, gaining deep business insights to guide and coach leaders effectively. Your focus will be on employee engagement, talent development, learning & development, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), as well as fostering a positive culture.

The Position

  • Strategic development: Collaborate with leadership teams to understand business goals and challenges, developing People Strategies that support talent attraction, development, retention, colleague engagement, and business performance.
  • Partnership and advisory: Advise, coach, challenge, and support leadership teams on strategic people-related matters.
  • Data analysis: Analyse people metrics to provide insights that influence people-related interventions and drive performance improvements.
  • Customer-centric solutions: Ensure the People and Culture Team's products and services meet business needs, advocating for compliance with People Policies and Processes.
  • Project management: Create strategic People Plans and lead HR projects, ensuring successful implementation, communication, training, and change management.
  • Organisational Health: Monitor and analyse performance indicators (e.g., sickness absence, attrition, grievances, work/life balance) and develop initiatives to promote positive trends.
  • Annual people activities: Support activities such as Salary Review, Talent and Succession Planning, Performance Management, and Employee Engagement.
  • HR model implementation: Embed the HR Operating Model across the business.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in HR processes and procedures.
  • Policy development: Influence the development of legally compliant People Policies aligned with our values and business needs.
  • Change management: Support and coach leaders through organisational changes, including design and implementation.
  • Training and development: Collaborate with the Organisational Development Team to create management and leadership development programs.
  • Employee engagement: Work with Internal Communication and Engagement to support employee engagement initiatives.
  • EDI advocacy: Champion Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, supporting the EDI Strategy and acting as an ally for employee groups.
  • Governance and advice: Provide expert advice on transformational change, restructures, TUPE, and redundancy, focusing on cost and efficiency improvements.
  • Industrial relations: Manage healthy industrial relations with Trade Unions, if applicable.
  • Employee relations: Support the Employee Relations Centre of Excellence and lead on complex employee relations cases as needed.
  • Strategic projects: Lead selected strategic HR projects and undertake additional duties as required.

The Person

  • Proven success as a strategic business partner in a fast-paced, customer-facing, operational business with a large, dispersed workforce.
  • Financially astute with commercial and digital literacy; intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to review and analyse data, providing valuable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Level 7 CIPD - MCIPD or equivalent skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
