Job description

Directly responsible for supply chain planning team (master planners, production planners, analysts, planner buyers and process owners) and for the warehouse team for all plant operations. Responsible to oversee all supply chain processes providing leadership and directions to maximize service levels, inventory and efficiency.

The role:

  • The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for owning and creating the site production plan
  • Managing all challenges and conflicts that might arise for the site around end to end Supply Chain Operations while identifying solutions alongside senior leaders in the business
  • Developing and growing the supply chain team to build a high performance environment with succession planning and coaching development plans
  • Working closely with the Vice president to identify a team structure and develop recruitment plans for the function
  • Over achieving on all tasks and targets for the function ensure an efficient flow of product to and from the facility with the customer at the forefront
  • Responsible for all service levels and materials availability for the site ensuring optimum inventory levels at all times
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team ensuring effective collaboration and communication across all site divisions
  • Building and maintaining long term commercial relationships with all external suppliers for the site in relation to supply chain activities
  • Working closely with the Vice president around budget preparation for the site proactively identifying opportunities for cost saving initiatives
  • Implementing all S+OP processes for the site around material planning policies providing strategic expertise on all supply chain activities
  • Analysing all Supply Chain KPIs in order to identify continuous improvements and operational efficiencies for the function

The person:

  • Degree qualified in Supply chain, business administration or other relevant education with a masters being beneficial
  • Must have a proven track record of progressively increased responsibility in all aspects of inventory and supply chain management
  • More than 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management with a well-rounded exposure to all areas of the field including production planning, distribution, master scheduling, warehousing and inventory control
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of staff, including senior management with excellent problem solving capabilities
  • A strong work ethic with a proven track record identifying continuous improvement opportunities within the Supply Chain function
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Experienced in Lean/six-sigma with a demonstrated record in delivering continuous improvement
