Job description

As a result of strategic growth within this organisation we seek to appoint the role of HR Director for a professional services organisation based in Dublin City. The central purpose of this role will be to develop internal talent as the organisation continues to grow. The recent appointment of a new CEO has provided the organisation an opportunity to further place its people at the centre of this growth and development. They have impressive talent and want to ensure this talent is harnessed providing a strategy, structure and execution. The HR Director will be an influencer and display sound judgement and decision making underpinned with the highest levels of integrity. They will challenge the status quo in a meaningful and commercial way. Within the HR team, there is an HR Manager and a Learning & Development Manager who will support this organisation of 100 employees. The role of HR Director is best described as a Player/Manager - someone who can provide strategy and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves. As they embark on their journey of change, the HR Director will view the organisation as a start-up which makes this an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

The Position

Reporting to the CEO the role will include the following areas of responsibility:

  • Develops and drives the HR Strategy. Acts as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on HR-related matters. Confidently challenges upward to ensure HR initiatives align with overall business strategy and objectives. Presents the HR strategy and progress at the board level with credibility and confidence.
  • Develops and implements succession planning strategies to ensure a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures that are fit for purpose, ensuring compliance with legal standards and alignment with company goals.
  • Leads the re-engineering of the HR function to support organisational growth and efficiency.
  • Drives organisational redesign initiatives to ensure the structure supports strategic goals and maximises operational effectiveness.
  • Integrates learning and development initiatives into the HR function to foster continuous professional growth.
  • Reviews and aligns reward and compensation structures, including Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIPs), healthcare, and pension schemes. Ensures competitive and fair compensation practices that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
  • Implements performance management systems that drive high performance and accountability across the organisation.
  • Enhances employee engagement through initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture-Fosters true collaboration across teams and departments, advocating for a holistic and commercially minded approach to business.
  • Establishes and monitors HR performance metrics, ensuring buy-in from employees at all levels. Use data-driven insights to inform HR strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develops and oversees the company's existing strong CSR program, ensuring it aligns with organisational values and objectives.

The Person

  • 15 years plus HR experience; at least 5 years at HR Leadership/HR Director level in a corporate, professional services environment. The ideal candidate will have a depth of HR expertise from a variety of organisations.
  • Is comfortable working both strategically and operationally.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to drive change and foster a positive work culture.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in challenging the status quo at senior level and driving change
  • Experience of working in Ireland is essential.
