Job description

HRM Search Partners have been exclusively retained for an executive search for a new HR Director. Based in Waterford, this manufacturing organisation is home to one of the regions largest employers with continued investment into this site and it's people.

The central purpose of this role will be to lead, direct and manage all HR activities associated with the Waterford manufacturing facility and it's smaller, (though growing) Dublin support operations. This role will work closely with VP of HR in the US and the Site Lead as a trusted advisor and member of the Executive Team. The successful candidate will partner across functions to translate the business objectives into HR strategic and operational plans.

The Role

  • Ownership of the HR strategy and people agenda. Translate the organisation's and business unit strategies and goals into tangible and ambitious HR delivery; Partners closely with SLT and Business Unit Directors.

  • Management, development, and support of the HR Team, driving performance, accountability, and delivery.

  • Drive workplace innovation in areas such as HR analytics. Develop creative and effective measurements such as performance management, absence management, and succession planning.

  • Ownership of the Employee Relations strategy, ensuring the organisation's policies continue to be fit for purpose and future of work focused. Continue to drive capability and accountability of managers in dealing with ER matters. Manage positive working relationships between local unions and the European Works Council.

  • Drive change management programs, bringing people on the journey by providing them with the support and tools to become both advocates and leaders in change management programs.

The Person

  • 7 - 10 years HR leadership experience in a fast paced and demanding multi-national environment. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment is most desirable.

  • Experience in leading and developing a HR team.

  • Is delivery focused and can manage conflicting demands.

  • Has a proven track record of sitting on a senior leadership team. Is a trusted advisor and has the credibility to influence across all areas of the HR Agenda.

  • Strong Irish employment law knowledge and expertise in complex issues, experience of forging positive relationships with local unions. Experience in Ireland is essential.
