Process Automation Engineer

This innovative medical device organisation is dedicated to improving lives by developing cutting-edge products and transforming the way that certain medical conditions are treated globally. They have a broad product portfolio of medical devices and pharmaceutical products and are now seeking a Process Automation Engineer to join their team and take responsibility for automation projects on site in Cork.

The Position

This Process Automation Engineer position reports into the Process Engineering Section Manager. You will take the lead on the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from design and test to production. You will support site projects to improve existing equipment and propose new improved technologies or processes where relevant.

The successful Process Automation engineer will also facilitate new and innovative projects on-site such as continuous manufacturing, new product introductions and automating new equipment on-site whilst mentoring and supporting project team members to develop skills across the business.

The Person

The ideal Process Automation Engineer will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience (or a very strong Historian background) and a Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. You will have a background in highly regulated GMP manufacturing operations (pharmaceutical, bio-tech or medical devices). In addition, you will have strong, demonstrable experience with:

  • Allen Bradley
  • SCADA and documentation

An autonomous individual who can work on their own initiative, who is ambitious and has strong problem-solving skills will thrive in this role and you will be a strong communicator with the ability to work within a team to achieve a common objective. A flexible approach to work and a positive attitude will be a good fit with the team dynamic and work ethic in this organisation.

The Benefits

  • Salary €65,000 – €70,000
  • Bonus (ranges from 6.5 – 12% role dependent and is based 50/50 on personal and company performance)
