Job description

HRM Search Partners have been retained to appoint a Head of HR based in Cork. As a result of continued growth, this global organisation seek to appoint into the role of Head of HR. The central purpose of this role will be to support the Irish business and other smaller operations in the UK and Belgium. The role of Head of HR will be based at Little Island, Cork (hybrid with 2 days working from home) where 350 of its workforce are based. There are five on the HR team consisting of HR Business Partners and HR Administrators. Two of these are dedicated HR Business Partners to a partner manufacturing business who also take up smaller project support for the wider business. Reporting directly to the CPO, the successful appointee will have the autonomy to design and execute HR initiatives that align with the company's goals and values. The primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing HR strategies, developing the Talent Agenda where this person will need to set out a talent strategy, drive a high performance culture, fostering a positive and inclusive culture, mitigating employee relations risks, develop HRIS capability to provide greater people insights both internally and to external clients and developing the HR team.

The Role:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives, while providing guidance on compliance and fostering collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Cultivate a positive workplace culture, enhance engagement, and champion diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Works to address HRIS/systems challenges and provide the business with better people insights to drive actions.
  • Drive a high-performance culture through solid performance management practices, partnering & coaching leaders to address performance challenges.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering continuous learning and building a high-performing team capable of supporting organisational goals.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate employee relations risks, resolve conflicts effectively, foster a coaching culture among managers, and empower HR Business Partners.
  • Design and implement the Talent Agenda for employee growth, identify high-potential individuals, and provide an assessment and development talent framework to support future succession planning.

The Person:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred. CIPD certification is required
  • Must have 10-15 years plus experience in HR with leadership experience. Experience working in a founder-led organisation that has undergone a transition due to acquisition is highly desirable.
  • Candidates who have previous experience working within business, commercial or operations role and have carved their career into a specific HR role will also be of particular interest.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, utilising data effectively to support decision making.
